Unemployment benefits in the EEA

Unemployment benefits from EU Member States or Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland

You are entitled to receive unemployment benefits from your EU Member State of residence for a period of up to three months, while seeking work in Denmark. For some Member States, the competent services or institutions may extend that period for up to six months.

If you have residence in Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland you can only receive unemployment benefits for a period of up to three months.

You must register with the employment services (Jobcenter) in Denmark and be subject to the control procedures in Denmark. You can find The Danish Jobcentres here (all names are in Danish): https://info.jobnet.dk/mit+jobcenter.

If your residence is in a EU Member State you will receive unemployment benefits directly from your Member State. If your residence is in Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland, you will receive your benefits from the Jobcenter where you are registered.
